The gorgeous expressions like those captured on the face of this little man are a good reason to photograph a newborn a little later than usual, at around four weeks. Babies are adorably sleepy and poseable for the first 10 to 12 days of their life, being awake and alert for only a few short minutes at a time. Fast forward a couple of weeks and babies are much more alert when they are awake while still taking very frequent naps. The best of both worlds we think!

Family portraits - On location
There is something so lovely about outdoor photo sessions, no two are the same. The differences in light, the changing environment, and of course each and every family has their own dynamic.
There was so much love in this family it was palpable. This gorgeous little man just couldn't get enough of his mum and dad and barely stopped smiling and giggling for the entire session.

Teen portraits - Saara
Visiting Australia for a summer Christmas must have been quite the climate shock for this gorgeous girl who hails from the same country as Santa Claus himself. Her family surprised her with her first ever portrait session and as you can see, the heat didn't bother her one bit.
If she was nervous about two photographers pointing their cameras at her and guiding her through poses, she certainly didn't show it. We ended up with so many beautiful images, we almost felt like she would have too many to choose from!

Family photography - multiple families
Every few years when these families get together for Christmas they make the effort to organise a family photo session. What a fantastic way to capture the growth of their broods!
This shoot was fantastic from a photographer's perspective. With so much experience in front of the camera, everyone, from Grandma to the kids, knew exactly what they were doing and what they wanted when it came to posing. This would be the largest family group we have photographed, and the whole session was over in the blink of an eye!
We were also extremely impressed with their colour coordination, don't they look fantastic?

Merry Christmas!
We know how busy weekends can be when your kids are at school. Why not take advantage of having the kids at home for the school holidays and organise a family photo session?

Family Portraits
The love in this family shone straight out of their beautiful smiles. It was such a pleasure to watch the dynamics between mum, dad and the kids. There seemed to be a peace that radiated from them all, even with their gorgeous girl tearing around and enjoying the wide open space!
We look forward to seeing this family in the new year for a very special ceremony to welcome their little man.

Family Portraits - On the move
One of the most common complaints we hear from parents is that their little ones won't sit still long enough to have their photo taken. While it is true that toddlers have better things to do than smile for the camera, it doesn't mean that you have to rule out family portraits, quite the opposite!
Capturing a family means much more than smiling for the camera - it means following the kids around and watching them play, letting them interact with their siblings and their mum and dad just like they do every day. If you're lucky, you'll be able to snatch a few quiet and peaceful moments when the little ones slow down and take a breath...
